Bailrigg FM to Covert to Online Only

Lancaster student radio station Bailrigg FM is to cease broadcasts on FM during or before August, but will continue online. The station has been broadcasting to the university campus on 87.7 FM for over 20 years.

The move result from a withdrawal of funding from Lancaster Students Union. There will be a name and branding change to remove the references to FM, and avoid the potential for any confusion.

Unfortunately, as the station will be handing back its Ofcom broadcast license, the station will be removed from the online platform Radioplayer, as it is a condition that all stations must have an Ofcom license.
