Ofcom has given approval for some Bauer Media operated services to expand coverage areas.
Absolute Radio 80s and Absolute Radio 90s have been given permission to join the Inverness local DAB multiplex. These stations are normally found on the SDL national DAB multiplex, and extend coverage of the stations to an area which the SDL national multiplex doesn’t yet cover. Absolute Radio 60s and Absolute Radio 00s are already available in Inverness.
Recently launched Magic at the Musicals has consent to join the Leeds, Teesside, Tyne & Wear, Edinburgh and Glasgow DAB multiplexes. This station uses DAB+ in London, but are likely to use the 80 kbps vacant space on the multiplexes with a mono normal DAB slot.
Dates for the changes have not yet been confirmed.
