Greatest Hits Radio DAB Coverage Plans

Details have been revealed on the locations that will have Bauer’s new sort of but not really national DAB station Greatest Hits Radio.

The following areas will lose an existing service and gain a localised version of Greatest Hits Radio:

  • Birmingham (replacing Free Radio 80s)
  • Coventry (replacing Free Radio 80s)
  • Hereford & Worcester (replacing Free Radio 80s)
  • Humberside (replacing Viking 2)
  • Lancashire (replacing Rock FM 2)
  • Leeds (replacing Radio Aire 2)
  • Liverpool (replacing Radio City 2)
  • Manchester (replacing Key Radio)
  • South Yorkshire (replacing Hallam 2)
  • Teesside (replacing TFM 2)
  • Tyne & Wear (replacing Metro 2)
  • Wolverhampton & Shropshire (replacing Free Radio 80s)

The following areas will gain a ‘national’ version of Greatest Hits Radio:

  • Berkshire & North Hampshire
  • Bournemouth
  • Bristol & Bath
  • Cambridge
  • Cornwall
  • Derbyshire
  • Essex
  • Exeter, Torbay & North Devon
  • Herts, Beds & Bucks
  • Kent
  • Leicestershire
  • London 1 (will take remaining unoccupied space)
  • Norfolk
  • Northants
  • Nottingham
  • Oxfordshire
  • Peterborough
  • Plymouth
  • South East Wales
  • South Hampshire
  • Sussex
  • Swindon
  • West Wiltshire

Northern Ireland will not be included, as there is no available space on the DAB multiplex there.
